SEECing Science Buddies

Theme:
Grades K-12
What:
Session
When:
11:15 AM, Friday 7 Feb 2020 (45 minutes)
How:
SEECing Science Buddies provides interested educators with a program for implementing science mentoring between older and younger students. Initially targeted age groups include high school or middle school students and elementary students, but can also be adapted to intermediate and primary elementary. After classes are matched, the mentor students will create science experiments or lessons to share with the younger students based on their class content. All activities are student driven with use of everyday, easily obtainable materials. Example lessons and activities will be given. Both teachers and students are learning to collaborate, problem solve, think beyond the textbook, create working relationships, as well as many other skills necessary for college and career readiness.
