Space Center U™ offers challenging, quality STEM education inspired by space exploration for students, adults and educators. The specific Space Center University course “Space Survival” focuses on the Human factors in the design and use of space systems. Participants will apply the engineering design process while prototyping and testing space crafts.

Teachers! Experience the modified Helicopter Underwater Escape Training portion of this course on. Participate in an authentic application of safety requirements for spacecraft retrieval operations like those used in Apollo and now being tested for the Orion spacecraft. Train with this elite crew that is working with the astronauts that are heading to space and back to the moon. This authentic experience focuses on the importance of human factors in the design process by gaining a greater understanding of what the end user experiences. This portion of the 5- day course highlights current NASA and Johnson Space Center programs and capabilities while inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals.
