What:
Session
When:
1:15 PM, Friday 7 Feb 2020 (1 hour 30 minutes)

Students investigate how the Ground Positioning Satellite (GPS) system depend on Einstein's theories of general and special relativity to function. Hands on activities at the grade 9 level explore how they determine the location of a receiver on Earth. Grade 10 activites explore speed and vector calculations of the satellites, and Physics 1 and 2 activites explore Einstien's ideas and inertial frames. Participants leave with a full resource kit.
