Dr. Michael Thai Binh Nguyen is a PGY-5 ophthalmology resident at the University of Toronto where he is the outgoing Chief Resident. He was also the Past President of the Council of Canadian Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR). Michael is passionate about medical education and has won multiple teaching awards for excellence in medical student and resident education. He is also the Founding Course Director of the Virtual Introductory Summer Course in Ophthalmology (VISCO), the first ever national ophthalmology review course for Canadian medical students. Next year, he will be completing a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

This hands-on lab will transfer the surgical skills required for the use of newer strabismus techniques. Attendees will perform the procedures using a 3D-printed silicone model validated for strabismus surgery simulation, under the operating microscope and/or using attendee’s personal loupes.
