Associate Professor Alan A McNab, DMedSc FRANZCO FRCOphth
Alan McNab trained in ophthalmology in Melbourne, Australia, between 1984 and 1986, followed by two years of Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in Orbital, Lacrimal and Oculoplastic surgery. He has served as Editor of the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Ophthalmology (now Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology) (1991 to 1995) and also on the Editorial Boards of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (from 2003) and Orbit (from 1999 to 2019). He has authored over 200 papers, many review articles and book chapters, and one single-author text book in two editions. He was the Head of the Orbital Plastic and Lacrimal Clinic at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne from 1999 to 2020. He was invited to deliver the Doyne Lecture at the Oxford Ophthalmological Congress in 2017, and was the RANZCO Council Lecturer in 2004.
