This half day symposium organized by the Council of Canadian Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR) aims to equipment Young Ophthalmologists with the skills and knowledge to excel in their careers. This year’s symposium brings together an excellent group of speakers from the across the country to share their tips and tricks for personal and professional success. Even topics less discussed in training such as how to terminate a staff member and handling your first complaint will be covered. This symposium is ideal for those aiming to learn some valuable life lessons for building a career in ophthalmology! 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Apply practical tips for personal development in their current practice setting or managing a practice after training
  • Describe some strategies to ease the transition from training to practice  
  • Differentiate management of common ophthalmology scenario in an urban vs rural setting
