Carmen Casado, a certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) in Europe, has been serving as the Data Protection Officer and Director of the Global Privacy Office for the World Food Programme (WFP) since March 2021. With over 20 years of experience in Data Protection and Information Technology, she specializes in regulated sectors such as healthcare, biotech, and pharma. Before joining WFP, Carmen led the Technology, Media & Telecom Department at the law firm Fieldfisher Jausas in Barcelona for nine years and then worked with Amgen, a leading US biotech company where she supported 11 DPOs. She holds an LLM in Computer & Communications Law, a master’s degree in legal Practice, and a Law Degree. Carmen is an active member of the APEP (Spanish Association of Privacy Professionals) and has contributed to various European Commission-funded research projects. She also lectures at several university master’s programs on topics like Big Data, Technology, Security, and Data Protection.
