Francisco Arga e Lima is the current President of the International Board of ELSA, being active in the Association for the past five years, both locally and nationally. Originally from Portugal, he has a Bachelor of Law and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at NOVA School of Law, in Lisbon, Portugal, focusing on European Law and Data Protection. Additionally, he is a member of the NOVA Consumer Lab and was a member of the Portuguese Presidency team of the European Council at the Working Party on International Environmental Issues, as well as an observer at the Small Intersessional Working Group of the Basel Convention on Technical Guidelines for the Environmentally Sound Management of Wastes containing or contaminated by Mercury. Lastly, he was an intern at the Court of Justice of the European Union, at the office of Judge Nuno Piçarra.
