
Dr. Angelopoulos is an internationally recognised expert on IoT and Future Networks with a long successful track record in designing and developing IoT systems. He has more than 30 publications in highly esteemed, peer-reviewed international Journals and Conferences and 3 book chapters, he has served in the programme committees of several conferences and as a reviewer for esteemed journals in his area. He is Associate Editor of IEEE Access and Associate Rapporteur for Study Group 20/Question 5 of the UN-related International Telecommunications Union. He has participated in 7 collaborative R&D projects at a European and a national level, also assuming managerial roles (WP and Site Leader). At BU, he has developed three MSc courses on IoT, has established the Open Innovation Lab and is also leading the development of two Impact Cases for the upcoming REF – on on international standards for crowdsourced systems and one on IoT-enabled landslide monitoring.
