The increasing connectivity provided by the Internet of Things (IoT) enables new business opportunities for the stakeholders engaged in the transformation – no matter the area. Gartner Inc. predicts more than 25 billion IoT devices worldwide in 2020 and another million new IoT devices online every hour.

This has an enormous potential and a huge impact on the economy by transforming many enterprises into digital businesses and facilitating new business models, improving efficiency and increasing employee and customer engagement. However, the ways in which enterprises can actualize any benefits will be diverse and, in some cases, painful. Statistics also show that around three out of four IoT projects never make it pass the pilot phase.

In this session you will hear from some of the actors deeply involved in assisting private companies and public organizations/authorities in their digital transformation and how IoT devices and the data they gather is the enabler that opens completely new and value creating opportunities for the stakeholders in the often overlapping service systems. Learn how data, platform and value is interlinked and be inspired to see the potential value creation from applied IoT within our own area of interest.
