Samuel is Senior
Researcher and Project Manager in INESC TEC - Institute for Systems and
Computer Engineering, Technology and Science, Portugal. INESC TEC is a private
non-profit research institution, dedicated to scientific research and
technological development, technology transfer, advanced consulting and
training, and pre-incubation of new technology-based companies.
Samuel finished the PhD in March 2014 in
production planning and scheduling optimization. The PhD work has been focused
on the implementation of data-driven methods for improving the economic
performance of chemical-pharmaceutical plants. Currently, Samuel is project
manager of several contract-based research programs with industrial companies.
Samuel is leading a cross-functional team that is focused in the design of
complex manufacturing and logistic systems. The most recent projects involved
solving complex problems through the application of advanced modelling
approaches and data sciences techniques.
