Thorsten Hülsmann is Director of International Affairs, Finance and Membership Management at IDSA. He holds a Diploma in Economic Geography, Organisation Sociology and Political Sciences from University of Bonn. He studied Communications Sciences at University of Bologna and worked as a research fellow at University of Bonn and Bristol. From 2002 onwards he was responsible for the international acquisition strategy of dortmund-project, an initiative of the Economic Development Agency Dortmund. Finally he was head of the logistics sector development team at Economic Development Agency Dortmund before he was announced as CEO of EffizienzCluster Management GmbH in May 2010. Since February 2016 he is Head of International Affairs and Finance within the Head Office of Industrial Data Space Association and additionally Head of Unit Strategic Initiatives at Fraunhofer-Institute of Metarial Flow and Logistics IML. Thorsten Huelsmann was an invited expert within UNESCO-WTA cooperative project on science city development and gave consultancy to Inwent GmbH, GIZ, TechnologyCenter Dortmund and the Economic Development Agency of the Region Ruhr in various projects. Since 2017 Thorsten leads additionally the Digital Hub Dortmund which was awarded as one of 12 digital hubs within the German dehub-initiative and recognized by the European Commission as one of the examples of good practise within the Digital Innovation Hub initiative DIH.
