Francisco is since 2009 a Senior Councillor for Standardization and Technical Regulation in Huawei Technologies Sweden. Before he had been with Portugal Telecom – in those days he was responsible in CEPT and ETNO for the interface with EU Research Programs. He is AIOTI WG2 WP for LSP / Test Beds Leader. Francisco is Vice-Chairman of ETSI TC Smart M2M and participates as ETSI in oneM2M Steering Committee. He has been Chairman of ETSI General Assembly and of its Board. He was also member of ICANN Board.

His main focus are today topics such as Open Source interplay with Standardization, IoT, including Semantic Interoperability and Ecosystems Innovation aspects, as well as AI in the realm of ICT standardization for networks and systems.
