Cecily Marcus

Cecily Marcus is curator of the Performing Arts Archives, the Givens Collection of African American Literature, and the Upper Midwest Literary Archives at the University of Minnesota Libraries in Minneapolis. She received her PhD in cultural studies in 2005 from the University of Minnesota Libraries. She has served as the the Principal Investigator for numerous projects, including the IMLS-funded "Preserving the Ephemeral: An Archival Program for Theater and the Performing Arts," and a grant to digitize aging video and film from dance, music, and theater collections. She is currently directing the IMLS-funded "African American Theater History Project" which will provide cross-institutional online access to digital materials documenting African American history and culture from collections such as the Library of Congress, New York Public Library, Tulane University, and others. Cecily Marcus was a 2007-2009 CLIR Postdoctoral Fellow.
