Research Associate & Outreach
New York University Abu Dhabi

I am Research Associate at the Center of Astronomy & Planetary Physics at New York University Abu Dhabi and is a science communicator. I got my Ph.D. in Astronomy from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy at Heidelberg University, Germany, an M.S. in Astrophysics from Bowling Green State University, Ohio, USA, and a BS in Physics from the American University of Beirut.

I work on tracing back the formation history of the Milky Way Galaxy by hunting old halo stars using large sky surveys and taught numerous graduate and undergraduate Astronomy and Physics courses.

Additionally, I like to creates and share astronomical content for the general public and like to combine science with music and art. I deliver public scientific talks were complex astronomical ideas are explained to the public with on-stage experiments and demonstrations. I adopt Einstein’s famous phrase “If you can’t explain it to a 6-year-old, you don’t understand it yourself”.
