Advance STEM pedagogy using modern curriculums components developed by engineers and educators centered around Robotics, Rocketry and Near Space Investigation
Join us for Mars Day: Colonizing the Red Planet, to discover how to take the work NASA is doing and deliver it right to your students in the form of engineering challenges. During this workshop, you will get ideas for how to implement full scale projects that allow students to work as NASA rocket scientists and engineers. You will also leave with a list of ideas for continued professional developmen...
This is a free, fieldtrip workshop at KSC for middle schoolers to learn block coding based on VIPER mission planned to go to the Moon in 2024. Students become Artemis engineers programing robots in small teams to search craters on the south pole of the Moon on giant maps. Teams that complete this mission, then run a robot with their code in lunar soil simulant, safely outside the hostile fine-dust of the lun...
The Coding Corner session utilizes five different platforms where participants can learn coding using the LEGO Spike, LEGO Essential, VEX Robotics, Parrot Mambo Drones, and Sphero Bolt. Participants will work through spatial modeling and map zones to complete tasks within the designed space settlement sectors using iPads and laptops.

Learn how to empower students in STEM with interactive hands-on explorations focused on building earth, space and science vocabulary aligned with NGSS. Participants will explore engineering with a variety of supplies that will complement classroom lessons and give teachers the confidence to lead students through creative, curriculum based STEAM projects about space. Building models of space vocabulary will b...
Bring the excitement of the International Space Station to your classroom through hands-on, VR and AR activities. Learn how to build a 3D printable ISS replica with moving parts that match the real ISS in real-time! Feel the excitement of exploring and holding the ISS in the palm of your hand through VR and AR.
As astronauts venture farther from Earth, and for longer periods, food will become increasingly critical. Crop production can supplement a packaged diet to provide additional nutrients and dietary variety for astronauts. Several unique challenges exist for growth of plants in microgravity and on other planetary surfaces, and teachers and students are helping NASA to solve these complex challenges. Testing with the Veggie and Advanced Plant Habitat chambers on t...
Meet the amazing NASA Sew Sister Jean Wright as she discusses how her group of Aerospace Composite Technicians crafted thermal blankets to insulate the orbiters from thermal energy. Utilize that new information to engage in an engineering design challenge to create a barrier that will protect an object from thermal energy conduction. Help your student connect the academic concepts to real-life applications. ...
