After moving to the United States, she studied film and was a Directing Fellow at the AFI. She then worked for some years as a development executive for All American/Pearson. Her first book, SPELLBINDER, was published by Feiwel & Friends in 2009, and was followed by MIDNIGHT GATE. In 2014 her scifi novel, PARADIGM, won a silver medal at the IBPA’s Benjamin Franklin Awards.
She recently returned to her first love and completed filming of episode one of THE GLOAMING, a paranormal/scifi adventure that explores the confluence of ancient legend and quantum mechanics (with a crossover character from the SPELLBINDER novels, because why not).
Helen lives and works in an old barn that used to be a ballet school, along with an embarrassing number of cats and the occasional visiting raccoon.
