Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Review latest techniques in corneal transplantation and when certain techniques would be most appropriate
  • Review management strategies to treat non-healing corneal wounds
  • Define the signs and symptoms of Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency
  • Describe the treatment modalities currently in use to treat Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency
  • Understand the processes that contribute to the pathophysiology of critical eye disease (glaucoma, retinal disease, cataract)
  • Identify the role of antioxidant substances in the eye and how they help protect against disease
