La D re Elsie Chan est une surspécialiste de la cornée au Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital à Melbourne en Australie. Elsie est également associée honoraire du Centre for Eye Research Australia et de l’Université de Melbourne. Elle est chercheuse dans le cadre d’études sur le kératocône et les dysfonctions endothéliales cornéennes qui ont reçu des subventions de l’Australian National Health and Medical Research Council et de l’Ophthalmic Research Institute of Australia. Elsie est l’actuelle présidente du Comité du programme scientifique pour le Congrès scientifique annuel du Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, rédactrice de la section sur le segment antérieur pour Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology, et coordonnatrice des mentors du programme de formation RANZCO de Victoria.
