CPD Credits & Evaluation

CPD Evaluation

Evaluation is a required component of the Royal College MOC Program. You can complete the evaluations online for the Annual Meeting and each of the sessions you attended from your PC, tablet or mobile device. A Certificate of Attendance is available for download with the evaluation and will also be sent out after the meeting.

CPD Credits

Section 1 – Group Learning

The 2023 COS Annual Meeting is an accredited group learning activity under Section 1 of the MOC Program as defined by the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and has been approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Participants may claim up to 30.5 credit hours.

Through an agreement between the American Medical Association (AMA) and the RCPSC, physicians may convert Royal College MOC credits to AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Live educational activities recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) are deemed by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) eligible for ECMEC®.

Section 2 – Self-Learning

Poster viewing: Learning from poster presentations may be claimed as a Scanning Activity under Section 2, as defined by the RCPSC. To claim credits, you must enter the title of each poster reviewed along with one learning outcome per poster. You may claim 0.5 credits per poster with a documented learning outcome in MAINPORT.

Section 3 –Self-Assessment Programs and Simulation

The COS will offer four courses as Simulation Activities (Section 3) and four Self-Assessment Programs (Section 3) as defined by the MOC Program of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Participants can claim a maximum of 1.5 hours for each course (credits are automatically calculated).

Allied Health

CSORN – Certificate of participation provided in the Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses (CSORN) package. CSORN doesn’t have an accrediting body. The 2023 COS Annual Meeting Certificate from the evaluation site may also function to claim credits.

CSOMP – Brings their own evaluation. The Canadian society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (CSOMP) Annual Education Day 2023 is approved for 6.5 IJCAHPO A credits. CSOMP awards CE credits the same day upon submission of a CSOMP evaluation form and a report is sent to the speakers after.

TCOS – The Canadian Orthoptic Society provides a Certificate of Attendance for the orthoptists from the Canadian Orthoptic Council. the TCOS Workshop and TCOS Scientific Session are as follows:

TCOS Workshop: 3.5 COC core credits
TCOS Scientific Session: 5.2 COC core credits

Vous pouvez télécharger un certificat de participation avec l’évaluation, et ce certificat vous sera également envoyé à la suite du congrès.<h4> Crédits de DPC</h4> Crédits de la Section 1 – Apprentissage collectifLe congrès annuel 2023 de la SCO constitue une activité d’apprentissage collectif agréée conformément à la définition précisée dans le programme de Maintien du certificat (MDC) du Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada (CRMCC) approuvé par la Société canadienne d’ophtalmologie. Les participants peuvent cumuler des crédits par heure de participation au congrès, jusqu’à concurrence de 30,5 crédits. En vertu d'une entente conclue entre le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada et l'American Medical Association, les médecins peuvent convertir les crédits obtenus au titre du programme de MDC du Collège royal en crédits de catégorie 1 de l'AMA PRAMC.La participation en direct à des activités éducatives reconnues par le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada rend les participants admissibles à des crédits européens de formation continue (ECMEC®) attribués par l’Union européenne des médecins spécialistes (UEMS). Crédits de la Section 2 - AutoapprentissageExposition des affiches : Le temps passé à l’étude d’affiches peut être inscrit à titre d’activité d’analyse de section 2, comme le stipule le CRMCC. Pour inscrire des crédits, vous devez inscrire le titre de chaque affiche étudiée ainsi qu’un résultat d’apprentissage. Les participants peuvent inscrire 0,5 crédit par affiche s’ils ont consigné le résultat d’apprentissage dans MAINPORT. Crédits de la Section 3 – Programmes d’autoévaluations et Simulation La SCO offrira quatre cours constituant des activités de simulation (section 3) et quatre programmes d’autoévaluation (section 3) au sens du programme de Maintien du certificat du Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada et approuvés par la Société canadienne d'ophtalmologie. Les participants peuvent obtenir un maximum de 1,5 heure pour chaque cours (les crédits sont calculés automatiquement).  <h4>Sociétés connexes de la santé</h4> SCIIO – Certificat de participation fourni dans la trousse de la Société canadienne des infirmières et infirmiers en ophtalmologie (SCIIO). La SCIIO n’a pas d’organisme de réglementation. Le Certificat de participation au Congrès annuel de la SCO 2023 du site d’évaluation peut également servir à obtenir des crédits.SCPMO – Apporte sa propre évaluation. La journée éducative annuelle de la Société canadienne du personnel médical en ophtalmologie (SCPMO) 2023 donne droit à 6,5 crédits de catégorie A de la IJCAHPO. La SCPMO décerne des crédits d’EC le jour même sur présentation d'un formulaire d’évaluation de la SCPMO; un rapport est par la suite transmis aux conférenciers.LSCO – La Société canadienne d'orthoptique fournit aux orthoptistes un certificat de participation du Conseil canadien d'orthoptique. L’atelier de la LSCO et la séance scientifique de la LSCO donnent droit à ce qui suit :<ul><li>Atelier de la LSCO : 3,5 crédits de base du CCO</li><li>Séance scientifique de la LSCO : 5,2 crédits de base du CCO</li></ul>
