Dr. Patrick Gooi, MD
Le DrGooi est responsable de la sous-section du glaucome et chargé de cours clinique à l’Université de Calgary. Il se spécialise dans la gestion chirurgicale du glaucome et de la cataracte complexe et dans la reconstruction du segment antérieur.
Le DrGooi participe avec enthousiasme à l’éducation médicale et à l’innovation: il est un chef de file de l’Ouest canadien en nouvelles chirurgies du glaucome telles que l’implant XEN, la technique GATT et le drain iStent Inject. Son groupe est actuellement le chef de file mondial des publications sur l’utilisation des caméras GoPROMD en médecine.
En plus de ses 18 publications, le DrGooi a présenté plus de 30 articles à l’occasion de congrès nationaux et internationaux, notamment ceux de la Société canadienne d’ophtalmologie (SCO) et de l’American Academy of Ophthalmology. Il a été codirecteur du cours de transfert des compétences en matière de cataracte pour le congrès 2018 de la SCO. Il siège également au Comité des soins aux patients et de l’innovation de la Société canadienne du glaucome.
