If you’ve ever met me or listened to any of my podcasts, you'll quickly notice that I’m full of energy and have a contagious passion for connecting people and systems (aka interoperability). I’m also often introduced as “the geospatial cheerleader”, and I love it! I’ve been in the geospatial/location ecosystem since I got to MIT in 1995; and what an amazing ride it has been - expanding today into climate impact, Artificial Intelligence, digital twins, gaming, and more.

I believe that I’m one of the few well-rounded professionals who are both tech-savvy (thank you MIT) AND business-savvy; visionary AND practical; multi-disciplinary (thank you geospatial); multi-cultural and multi-lingual. I gravitate towards challenging impactful collaborative work – like modernizing, rebranding, and growing the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC); connecting siloed departments at Northrop Grumman; starting the US subsidiary of a UK Aviation exchange business; founding my own geospatial consulting business; and building a new national research institute (Taylor Geospatial Institute).

I’m proud to be a globally recognized expert in geospatial – most recently cheerleading the value of geospatial science & tech (coupled with AI, cloud computing and even quantum computing) in new domains like digital twins, gaming, and even the metaverse. I really hope that my energy and passion are contributing to accelerating the impact of geospatial on our world. I can’t stress how critical this is to our future, for disaster resilience, climate adaptation, food security, marine sustainability, national security, and more.

Last but not least, I’m a champion of diversity; and I’m happy to have been awarded the Women in Tech leadership award in 2023 as well as the 2022 Geospatial World Diversity Champion award and the 2019 Geomatics Canada Diversity Leadership Award.
