Morgan Crowley is a Ph.D. Candidate at McGill University in the Department of Natural Resources. In her research, she fuses classifications from multiple satellite sensors to map and analyze wildfire progressions and burned areas in Canada. All of her research is done in Google Earth Engine, often in collaboration with the Canadian Forest Service. Outside of her research, Morgan enjoys facilitating the Ladies of Landsat organization. Ladies of Landsat is an international organization working to make the field of remote sensing more equitable and inclusive for underrepresented scientists. Some of Morgan’s recent initiatives leading Ladies of Landsat include founding the GeoMixer virtual networking event with organizations like Sisters of SAR and a weekly Manuscript Monday series (#LoLManuscriptMondays) highlighting cutting-edge remote sensing research led by gender minorities. Morgan prioritizes collaborations to advance innovation and inclusion through both her research and efforts with Ladies of Landsat.
