Craig graduated from the University of Ottawa Eye Institute Ophthalmic Medical Training Program's first class as an ophthalmic medical technologist. He joined the Eye Institute staff after graduation until moving to the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary in 2002 to develop and open the Calgary Ophthalmic Medical Technology Program. Craig moved to Kingston to start the Kingston Ophthalmic Training Centre in 2009 where he continues in that position. Craig also holds the position of Education Director for the International Joint commission on Allied Heath Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO). Craig is currently taking his Master's of Education with a specialty in distance education.
