Annick Fournier, MD, FRCSC
After graduating from the Université de Montréal MD program, Dr. Fournier completed residency training at Université de Sherbrooke. She pursued fellowships in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Université de Montréal and the University of Iowa.
Since joining the University of Ottawa, she has been providing expertise in pediatric ocular surgery and complex pediatric and adult strabismus procedures. She is involved in medical education at all levels, teaching medical students, residents and fellows in Ophthalmology, and serves on the residency training committee. She is the francophone content expert for undergraduate medical education in Ophthalmology and was recognized in 2019 with the William N. Clarke resident teaching award.
Dr. Fournier is the past head of the Ophthalmology department at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and the current president of the Canadian Orthoptic Council.
