Michael Kryshtalskyj
Dr. Michael Kryshtalskyj is a resident physician (PGY-5) at the University of Calgary with a passionate interest in oculofacial plastic surgery. He completed medical school at the University of Toronto, undergraduate studies at Western University, and is in the Master of Global Surgical Care program at the University of British Columbia. He co-founded the COS Foundation’s philanthropic Eyes on Ukraine Initiative in 2022, supporting the treatment of ophthalmic trauma.
Dr. Kryshtalskyj has written articles in peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and has spoken at national and international meetings. His interests in oculofacial plastic surgery include topics in trauma, periocular oncology, paediatrics, invasive fungal infections, and global oculoplastics. Dr. Kryshtalskyj holds the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Secretariat Award, the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, and was selected to Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 and the Future Leaders’ Forum of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the United Kingdom.
