Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session participants will be able to:

  • Identify and apply appropriate diagnostic techniques and tools for a range of ocular conditions, including rare and atypical cases such as cutaneous malignant melanoma metastatic to the eye.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the clinical and pathologic features of common and uncommon ocular diseases, including optic nerve tumors, lacrimal sac lesions, and uveal melanocytic lesions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the latest advancements in ophthalmic pathology, including evolving gene expression profiles in uveal melanocytic lesions and the role of FDG avidity on PET scan in diagnosing uveal melanoma.
