This course will identify the essentials of Ocular Pathology and is designed to present participants with essential concepts of pathological processes relevant to the clinical practice of ophthalmology. This self-assessment program will look in depth at a wide variety of common ocular lesions needing proper pathological interpretation. Participants, through clinical scenarios (case studies) will learn the diagnostic advantages and disadvantages of having knowledge of the pathology report and what it could bring to their clinical practice. 

 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Illustrate the importance of providing adequate history on surgical pathology requisitions. 
  • Assess the content of the pathology report as it relates to the clinical presentation.
  • Critique the pathology report for discrepancies relative to the clinical context.
