Maximize your impact by getting your metabarcoding data on GBIF.org (continued)
My Session Status
Why share your data? DNA metabarcoding is a powerful tool for detecting species
in bulk or environmental samples. However, inferred species detections are often not
readily available for reuse. By sharing your data on GBIF.org, you can:
• Increase exposure: make your data accessible to a global audience.
• Enhance reuse: facilitate further research and applications.
• Boost citations: gain recognition through data citation and tracking.
What to bring: Please bring your ASV/OTU table (or your colleague’s), including:
• Sample metadata
• Sequences
• Taxonomic information
What you’ll learn:
• How to format OTU/ASV-table data for GBIF.org
• Publishing your data for easy reuse
• Understanding the GBIF data citation and literature tracking system
• Tools and developments for sequence-based biodiversity data
Workshop highlights:
• Tool demonstration: learn how to format and publish your data effortlessly.
• Data integration: see your data indexed alongside other detection methods.
• Citation tracking: understand how GBIF tracks data use in literature.
