As a pioneering expert in GIS, BIM, CAD, and digital twins, I possess a unique ability to help organizations unlock major value from their big data streams through the use of cutting-edge location intelligence and geospatial technologies.

I play a key role in digital transformation by planning, developing, and deploying the people, processes, and technologies needed to capitalize on the untapped potential in the vast amounts of raw location data organizations are already collecting.

A conscientious and entrepreneurial leader, I’m known for diagnosing and solving difficult business and technical problems, and bring a seasoned background that includes a blend of systems design engineering, mentoring, and client relations.

My career highlights include:

❖ Overseeing the architecture of a multi-million-dollar IoT project in partnership with Canfor, Mosaic Forest Management, UBC, and the Government of Canada to develop and launch a forest machine connectivity solution.

❖ Running a consultancy that designed and delivered numerous innovative, high-quality GIS applications for clients in various industries, such as the successful transition to a new aeronautical information exchange model for NAV Canada.

❖ Leading the development, architecture, and integration of an award-winning digital twin application for the Department of National Defence that is used for battlefield planning and situational awareness by the Canadian Army.

❖ Developing key geocoding and address management functionality for ESRI’s flagship product, ArcGIS, and laid the foundation to becoming a top 0.1% global expert in the software.

Construction contracts are the same worldwide. While there are differences in language, classification, project delivery and other factors, the one common denominator is that a construction contract requires Drawings and Specifications. While geometric modelling software and specification software have both evolved over time, very little effort is currently being exerted in Canada to integrate them in document development processes.According to Arcadis global surveys, the #1 cause of c...

Reality Capture & Digital Twins

The three building blocks of digital building delivery are BIM, VDC and Digital Twins. There are various definitions for these three things, but based on my experience I define them as follows:- Building Information Modelling: a model with or without 3D geometry that hosts the information about building material, dimensions, connections, forces, power, flow rates, and all other elements required in each element that forms the building. - A key subset of understanding BIM is under...
