Mailyn Gonzalez is a molecular ecologist and leads the Conservation Genetics Research Group at the Humboldt Institute in Bogotá, Colombia. She is commited to enriching references libraries to enhances knowledge of Colombia´s biodiversity. Her work focuses on applying genetic information to combat illegal wildlife trade, utilizing environmental DNA (eDNA) for biodiversity monitoring and building capacity among environmental authorities and local communities. Mailyn is also member of the Science Committee of the international barcode of life.
