Being a diver since the age of 12, I am passionate about the oceans since my childhood. After a BSc training in chemistry & marine ecology at James Cook University in Australia, I specialized in molecular ecology during my MSc (Uni Bremen, Germany) and PhD (Ifremer, France). My PhD research optimized environmental DNA metabarcoding workflows for the assessment of deep-sea biodiversity, bringing new perspectives to the study of biodiversity and biogeography in this vast biome. I am now working at the Norwegian Research Center (NORCE) in Bergen, Norway, in an applied science project aiming to validate molecular approaches for marine benthic monitoring. I really enjoy working at the intersection between science, industry, and environmental management.
