I lead the Conservation and Environmental Genomics labs in the Fenner School of Environment & Society at the Australian National University and I am the Chair of the Australian Capital Territory Scientific Committee. My research focusses on the use of genomic tools to answer questions that inform the conservation and management of species and ecosystems. I am interested in using environmental DNA tools to track changes in community composition, and species trophic interactions in response the environmental and human mediated change, particularly during restoration and translocations. I am also interested in using genomic tools to investigate species identification and discrimination, population genetic structure and history, phylogenetics and changes in genetic diversity and traits in response to human intereventions, particularly translocation and fenced sanctuaries.
